The rumors have consensus that Galaxy S8 will have fingerprint scanner on the back of the device. The South-Korean tech giant is leaving the home button along with narrowing the bezels on the front. To compensate all that space, the device is reported to have a facial recognition.

The technology is not new, Samsung featured Iris scanner technology in tainted Galaxy Note 7. Now in addition to the iris scanner, The Investor reported that Samsung Galaxy S8 will have facial recognition as well.

The reports quotes an official of the Samsung, “Due to the limitation of iris scannings such as accuracy and speed; we have decided to add the facial recognition software”. The reports also adds that the face scanner will take 0.01 seconds to unlock the phone.

However, it is not certain whether it will feature in both Galaxy S8 models or in just premium Galaxy S8. Interestingly, a report came in the month of January that Apple is also thinking to add iPhone 8 facial recognition along with narrowing the bezels of the phone.

The Galaxy S8 is said to feature 5.8 inches screen and the premium Galaxy S8 Plus will sport a 6.2 inches massive screen. The smartphones will feature 4 GB of RAM and the storage options will be 64 GB and 128 GB.

We almost have a pretty clear picture and everyone is waiting for the launch date of Galaxy S8 which is on 29th of March 2017.
