According to the reports, Samsung is seriously considering to cut the Galaxy Note phones and wants to ensure the product quality is maintained. Samsung does not want to repeat the Galaxy Note 7 disaster again.

We should keep in mind that nothing is official yet, and this news is only based on the leak which can be wrong or right.

It this report turns out to be true, and Samsung releases only Galaxy S8 device in 2017. Then there are two possible ways that Samsung could take. First, they can ditch the Galaxy Note altogether. Second, the Galaxy Note series and the Galaxy S can follow one another each year.

We can bet on the first option of eliminating the Galaxy Note series altogether. It is going to be back-breaking for Samsung to convince buyers to purchase another Galaxy Note device.
