Samsung May Ditch Galaxy S8 Headphone Jack

Apple removed the 3.5 mm headphone jack from its latest edition of entry level model iPhone 7 and premium level iPhone 7 Plus. Now the news rapidly spreading in the social media that Samsung may do the same with its upcoming Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Edge smartphones.

According to the latest report, Samsung may use USB Type-C in their next flagship, and the Samsung also used this in their Galaxy Note 7.

The USB Type-C has been granted the Android Device Class 3.0 specifications by the USB Implementers Forum, which means that Samsung can now remove the headphone jack of 3.5 mm from their next generation smartphone and use USB Type-C.

Samsung will officially announce this feature when they officially release Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Edge which are expected to be released on the 26th of February, 2017.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Dual-Lens Camera

Samsung Galaxy S8 may also introduce dual lens camera like Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus. But this is not confirmed yet.

Another rumor suggests that Samsung’s rear camera would be of 30 MP and the front camera would be of 9 MP. This story rejects this dual-lens rumor because it would not be possible to have 30 MP in dual-lens camera. Samsung used 12 MP in their Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy Note 7 devices.

Introducing a single specification like its rival is fine. But copying both these specs will make a negative impact on the word of mouth of the market and customers.
