The Samsung has applied for the trademark of the word ‘Bixby’ in South Korea. The filing has led rumors that this could be the Samsung’s planned AI assistant which will be unveiled on board next year in February. The AI assistant of Galaxy S8 will be called Bixby.

The filing for the trademark reported by Galaxy Club and according to them, the brand name is going to be used for computer application software or personal information management, portable computers, mobile telephones, and tablet computers. In other words, the software will be used to function computer software and voice recognition system to enable the hands-free use of a smartphone through voice recognition.
Lee Kyeong-tae, the vice president of Samsung mobile communication, discussed the upcoming specs and features that would be expected from the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 which includes artificial intelligence.
The timing of applying the trademark has now led to rumors that voice assistant is going to be the same which is being made for the Galaxy S8 and it is expected to be available on other devices of Samsung as well.
It is still ambiguous that Viv Labs, the start-up artificial intelligence founded by those people who created Siri will create the Samsung voice recognition system or not. The vice president, Kyeong-tae declined to utter a word on this matter. The AI assistant is ready to take on the likes of Google Assistant and Apple’s Siri.

Aside from an AI assistant, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 is reckoned to have a dual lens camera of 16 MP, Qualcomm Snap Dragon 830 processor, and a new slick design different from the predecessors. The earlier rumors also suggested that Galaxy S8 may feature a 4K display. The release of Samsung Galaxy S8 is believed to be on 26th of February 2017.
